Choose the channels and the timezone

Point the bot at the channels you actually use, and tell it what time you mean.

Admin Web — 🎖️ Operations → Settings, or /set-timezone

How to do it

  1. Go to 🎖️ Operations → Settings.
  2. Pick the channel for the board, the approval queue and the archive. Default means the bot uses #orbat, #slot-approvals and #approval-archive, creating them if they are missing.
  3. Set the timezone to an IANA name like Europe/Berlin, or run /set-timezone.

Worth knowing

  • The timezone is how every time you type is read — operations, events and /purge alike. Times the bot shows are Discord timestamps and localise themselves per viewer.
  • The empty option is called Default rather than left blank on purpose: nothing chosen and "chosen, and it happens to be #orbat" behave differently the day somebody renames a channel.
  • A chosen channel that has since been deleted is called out rather than quietly falling back.
