Sync, restart and the one-time migration

The three commands that are about the bot rather than about an operation.

Admin Discord — /sync, /restart, /archive-old-approvals

How to do it

  1. /sync re-registers the slash commands with Discord and refreshes the board. Use it when a command looks missing.
  2. /restart restarts the bot. Nothing is lost — everything lives in the database and every button is re-registered on start.
  3. /archive-old-approvals is a one-time migration that moves approval messages decided before the archive existed into #approval-archive.

Worth knowing

  • Commands sync automatically on start and when the bot joins a server, so /sync is for when something looks wrong rather than routine.
  • On a sheet-backed operation /sync also repairs pending requests whose rows moved because somebody inserted a row. On an ORBAT there is nothing to repair.
  • /archive-old-approvals scans up to 500 messages and is not meant to be run twice.
