Follow someone whose profile hides their posts
Watch the subreddit instead, and keep only what that account wrote.
How to do it
- Reddit lets an account hide its posts from its own profile, which is what a user watch reads. If a user watch stays empty, that is usually why.
- Make a subreddit watch on the subreddit they post in.
- Put their account name in Only these authors — several, comma-separated, if you like.
Worth knowing
- The filter is applied before anything else looks at the posts, so the other authors’ posts never take up the watch’s memory.
- A very busy subreddit can push a post out of its own feed between two checks. Nothing can be done about that from here.
- Widening the filter later makes old posts look new. Use Recent posts → Mark all afterwards.
