Watch a Reddit user or subreddit
Announce every new post in a channel, in your own words.
How to do it
- Go to 📣 Reddit → Add a watch.
- Pick user or subreddit and type the name without the
u/orr/. - Choose the channel, write the announcement text, and tick the roles and list the people to ping.
- Press Preview to see the newest post rendered with your text — it posts nothing.
- Save. The first check notes what is already on the feed and announces none of it.
Worth knowing
{title},{url},{author}and{subreddit}are filled in. Everything else is literal.- Checked every five minutes. Check now runs that check early and does announce.
- No Reddit account, API registration or secret is needed — it reads the public feed.
- The bot will not ask anybody to upvote anything, and there is no wording for it. Organised voting is what gets accounts banned, and the post score is deliberately never read or shown.
- Pointing a watch at a different source resets what it has seen, so the new feed is seeded rather than announced from scratch.
