Start an operation

Load a roster, set the start time, and put the board up.

Admin Discord — /setup-slots, or the Operation tab

How to do it

  1. Decide where the roster comes from: an ORBAT you built here, or a Google Sheet.
  2. In Discord: /setup-slots orbat:<name> or /setup-slots sheet_url:<link> — one or the other, never both.
  3. Add event_time and reminder_minutes if you know them; both can be set later.
  4. In the browser: 🎖️ Operations → Operation → Start a different operation, which is the same thing with a dropdown.
  5. The board is posted to #orbat automatically, with the request button on it.

Worth knowing

  • Starting an operation archives the previous one. Its pending requests are left alone and stay decidable.
  • Times are read in the server timezone — set that once with /set-timezone.
  • If the bot cannot post in the ORBAT channel the operation is still created and you are told. Post the board yourself afterwards.
